stitchu
photo or prompt = flat + pattern, sewable, web
built by Damla Su Bilge · stitchu.noseydewdrop.com
what it is
Dress patterns, drafted with care and shared with their story. Each dress becomes a drawing, a cutting pattern and a sewing guide that agree with one another. Read how it was made, then download the pattern.
People who sew buy fixed-size patterns that never fit their bodies. stitchu turns a garment photo or a text prompt plus 7 body measurements into a made-to-measure, sewable A4 PDF pattern.
how a pattern is made
- Read the dress. Neckline, sleeves, seams, gathers and closures are noted from the photograph, and anything the photo cannot show is written down as an assumption.
- Draft it once. One construction produces the drawing, the cutting pattern and the sewing guide, so all three describe the same dress.
- Check before sharing. Each result is compared with the photograph and reviewed before it reaches the journal. Every story says plainly what has not been tested yet.
the engine
Four layers with strict contracts between them: vision reading, typed spec, a deterministic C++ drafting engine client-side in WebAssembly so measurements never leave the browser, and a tiled PDF.
The drafting math is its own engine with verified formulas, so a pattern is drawn from geometry and checked before it exports, not guessed.
Software checks can identify some geometry and seam problems. They cannot establish fabric behavior or fit on your body. Review the assumptions and make a toile before using your final fabric.
